LAKE TAHOE EQUINE CONFERENCE

This conference will provide in-depth presentations on:

• Equine lameness and advanced imaging of the neck and spine with medical, surgical, and practical approaches to treatment
• Neurology: Workup of the ataxic horse from the basics to biomarkers, plus a newly discovered inherited disease of foals
• Endocrine disease in the performance horse and its effects on various body systems
• Alternative approaches and treatment of refractory gastric ulcer disease
• Cardiology: from murmurs to arrhythmias to exercise testing
• Cybersecurity for the equine veterinarian
• Racehorse welfare: the role of HISA

Presentations by outstanding speakers will provide you with up-to-date practical clinical information. All presenters will provide summary results with an emphasis on application for the equine practitioner. This course is APPROVED for 20 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize AAVSB’s RACE approval.

The evening social programs will provide valuable networking with practitioners sharing their experiences. In between the morning and evening sessions participants can enjoy the beautiful Lake Tahoe area. Downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and hiking are some of the activities available. Others may choose to just relax in one of the most beautiful mountainous areas in the world or to enjoy the various Lake Tahoe attractions or the pool and spa. Participants are encouraged to bring their family and friends.

FOOD: Light breakfast, coffee and tea are served every morning and appetizers and beverages each evening before lectures.

CLIMATE & CLOTHING: Mountain weather conditions prevail, resulting in sharp differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. Casual and informal attire is appropriate for daytime and evening dress.

HOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe. These rooms will be held until January 9, 2025. A reservation form is enclosed.
